It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India (the DPDP Act). Data we collect

We collect only the data we need to run the parking marketplace. Here is what that means in practice:

• Account details. Your name and phone number, which you provide when you sign in with a one-time passcode (OTP). We do not ask for passwords.
• Vehicle details. Vehicle type and registration numbers you add, so bookings can be matched to your car.
• Location data. Your approximate location when you use the map to find parking nearby, so we can show spots close to you.
• Booking records. The spots you book or list, booking times, and payment references needed to complete and verify transactions.
• Messages you send. Content you share through the app's in-app chat and any messages you send to our support team.

How we use your data

We use your data for specific, limited purposes:

• Account details to create and sign you in to your account, and to reach you about your bookings.
• Vehicle details to complete bookings and to help hosts and drivers identify each other at the spot.
• Location data to show nearby parking spots and estimated distances.
• Booking records to process payments, issue receipts, resolve disputes, and meet our legal obligations.
• Messages to respond to you, provide support, and keep a record of agreements between drivers and hosts.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who need it to run the app (for example, our payment and OTP providers), and with authorities when required by law.

Consent and withdrawal

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you sign up and use the app. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at [contact email] or through the in-app support once the app is live. Withdrawing consent may limit your ability to use parts of the service, and we will tell you what that means before we act on your request.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

• Access — get a summary of the personal data we hold about you.

• Nomination — nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

We protect your data with safeguards described in our Security page: OTP sign-in instead of passwords, token-based sessions, and encryption in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children's data

ParkQ is intended for adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at [contact email] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy
